what is lend

One of the teachers of the law came and heard them debating. Noticing that Jesus had given them a good answer, he asked him, “Of all the commandments, which is the most important?”
“The most important one,” answered Jesus, “is this: ‘Hear, O Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is one.  Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.  The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.  There is no commandment greater than these.” MARK 12:28-31 (NIV)

The Love Every “Neighbor” Dare (LEND) @ Phos Church is a brand new initiative that we are taking to learn how to love our “neighbors” better.

We know that many of us are already doing a great job loving on our “neighbors”, and we want to continue to encourage those actions.   Maybe some of the ideas on this site might help us come up with new and creative ways to strengthen great relationships that we have already started.

Others of us are ready to take the next steps in our relationships with our “neighbors”, and have some real conversations about the church and Jesus.  Our hope is that the resources we give you will encourage & challenge you to engage in great spiritual conversations.

Then, there are many of us who just need help. We have no clue where to start and are longing for someone to give us some ideas.   Perhaps we have great intentions about loving our “neighbors” but we just haven’t been willing to carve out time.   We need some sort of encouragement to help us focus more on those around us who don’t have a relationship with Jesus.

LEND is designed to meet all of these needs and give us a challenge that will take us out of our comfort zone into the world that God has called us to.
