lend is not
8 weeks and done – LEND is not meant to be an 8 week initiative and then we are finished loving our “neighbors”. LEND is a springboard that will hopefully open our eyes to the world around us and make loving our “neighbors” become a part of who we are on a regular basis.
A check off list – Please do not get caught up in checking off your list and making sure you have written in your journal everyday. You don’t want to forget why you committed in the first place. LEND is not something we do because we think we should, but because we truly want to. It is the incredible love of God pouring into us so much that we can’t contain it anymore and we have to pour it out on others.
The only ideas – Be creative in your thinking. Go beyond the list we have given you and come up with your own ideas on how you might love those around you. Write about them in your journal and share them on the LEND blog.

This page is one of the most helpful for me. Personally, knowing what something is NOT helps me get a better understanding of what it IS. And what this short list helps me realize is that LEND is all about simply responding to God’s promptings.
• Carrying out HIS ideas that go beyond the list provided.
• Following HIS guidance in doing MORE than simply checking things off a list.
• Being faithful to follow HIS lead beyond this 8 weeks.
May we simply be obedient to the leadership of the Holy Spirit as we LEND with our heart, soul, mind and strength.
